Prost, Y’all! Celebrate Oktoberfest at the Flora-Bama

Trade the mountains of Bavaria for white-sand beaches and celebrate Oktoberfest the Flora-Bama way! On Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 3–6 PM, the legendary Flora-Bama is bringing a little taste of Germany to the Gulf Coast with German food, cold drinks, live polka music, lederhosen, stein hoisting and plenty of Flora-Bama fun.

Best of all? Admission is free, and the whole family is welcome! Whether you come dressed head-to-toe in traditional German attire or simply show up ready for a good time, Flora-Bama Oktoberfest is one fall tradition you won’t want to miss.

Come Hungry: Complimentary German Food

You can’t celebrate Oktoberfest without the food!

Beginning at 4 PM, guests can enjoy complimentary German favorites from the buffet while supplies last, including:

• Beer Brats
• Sauerkraut
• German Potato Salad

Guests 21 and older will also receive a free drink upon entry, making it even easier to raise a glass and say, “Prost!”

Think You Can Hold Your Stein?

The beer may be cold, but you’ll have to wait to drink it.

The Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Competition is one of the highlights of Flora-Bama Oktoberfest — and it’s much harder than it looks. Competitors must hold a full stein straight out in front of them for as long as possible. No bending that elbow, no dropping your arm and definitely no sneaking a sip!

Registration begins at 2 PM, and spots are limited to the first 8 female competitors and 16 male competitors to register. The competition kicks off at 3 PM, and participants receive a free stein courtesy of Samuel Adams.

Not competing? Watching everyone attempt it may be just as entertaining.

Break Out the Lederhosen & Dirndls

If there was ever an excuse to show up at the Flora-Bama wearing lederhosen, this is it.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the Oktoberfest spirit and dress in their best traditional German attire. Throughout the event, there will be silent judging for the best lederhosen and best dirndl, with each winner receiving a $50 Flora-Bama gift certificate.

So dust off those suspenders, braids and alpine hats. At the Flora-Bama, going a little over the top is usually encouraged.

Get Ready to Polka with The Brats

At 4 PM, the party really gets rolling when The Brats take the stage.

This New Orleans-based polka band brings plenty of energy, laughs and traditional Oktoberfest spirit to the Tent Stage. Whether you know how to polka or plan on making it up as you go, grab a partner and hit the dance floor. German food, cold drinks and a polka band playing inside the Flora-Bama, you probably won’t find an Oktoberfest quite like this one anywhere else.

For more than 60 years, the Flora-Bama has had its own way of turning just about any occasion into a celebration. Oktoberfest is no exception.
