40th Anniversary of Flora-Bama Polar Bear Dip - 2024

After a long night at the Annual New Year's Eve Bash, thousands of people come to Flora-Bama on the morning of New Year's Day to wash away 2023 and dip into 2024! We were blessed with perfect weather conditions this year to make for a more enjoyable splash in the water and thousands showed up ready to celebrate a new year together. This year marks the Flora-Bama's 40th Polar Bear Dip and many customers expressed the number of years they have been attending....5, 10, 15 and some even more! The tradition brings you a dip into the water, then a free plate of the traditional New Year food items like black eyed peas, collard greens, ham and cornbread and of course a draft beer after your plunge. Every year on New  Year's Day, thousands join together at Flora-Bama where everyone gathers on the sand behind Flora-Bama and right at the strike of noon, we all plunge into the Gulf together. Best of all? This event is FREE and open to all ages! Post plunge, the party continues throughout the day and evening with live music on three stages and joyful camaraderie among patrons.
