September at Flora-Bama kicks off with a festive Labor Day weekend and continues with a bunch of fun events. Saturday, September 2nd at 3pm is our Miss Flora-Bama Bikini Contest Finale. This brings all the ladies who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd  in any of our previous contests this year - Miss Mullet Toss, Miss Memorial Day, or Miss Firecracker, back to compete for the grand finale and to win the title of Miss Flora-Bama 2023 and $5000!


The following weekend kicks off with our annual Bulls on the Beach September 7th-9th. This is an adrenaline filled event with three nights of bull riding. Taking place in the parking lot beside Flora-Bama, invitation only cowboys will compete for prize money and bragging rights. Youth bull riding happens each night as well, with kids competing by riding miniature bulls. This event is fun for the whole family. Purchase tickets at www.florabama.com/tickets.


After Bulls on the Beach, we will be hosting an exciting event called Whiskey and War Stories. Our friends at Horse Soldier Bourbon will be providing a one of kind experience with a bourbon tasting, light Hors d'oeuvres, a signed bottle and a presentation by Will Summers  telling stories of his first hand experience. Will Summers is a retired U.S. Army Infantry Officer and served as a member of the 82nd Air Borne Division and Special Forces. Will was a member of the ODA 595 Special Forces team that was the first to land in Afghanistan in response to the attacks on our country on 9/11. Their historic and unconventional warfare experience earned them the moniker, “The Horse Soldiers”, and has been brought to life in the Hollywood film, “12 Strong”, as well in other numerous leading books and documentaries.
