Elaine Petty

Elaine may have her roots in country music, but when she belts out tunes in her raspy, alto voice, she is often compared to Janis Joplin or Melissa Etheridge. That’s okay with her because she does renditions of both the artists’ tunes and considers it quite a compliment! On the other hand, when she writes her own tunes, Loretta Lynn or Dolly Parton might come to mind as she writes a lot from personal experience and even takes you back to her childhood with such tunes as “Nannies’ House,” a crowd favorite, or “Little Country Town,” from her childhood days with her beloved grandparents. She has a lot of Rock-a-Billy in her soul also and goes there with “Nothin’ Rocked Me like You Do.”
