She had a full life of 97 yrs. and we sent her out in grand style by toasting her at Flora-Bama the day we buried her. (Tell any of those boys who thought my little sister Lisa and cousin Alice - both from Virginia- were just sweet thangs, the girls will be back to clear those pool tables again in 1999!) Mike, those prawns were "TO DIE FOR!!!", and you were right, I didn't have any problems with that dozen raw oysters I ate all by myself. I just can't figure out how I'm gonna get my son and husband back to Pensacola for the Mullet Tossing contest this spring. It only seems fair that the person who is leading the peliminaries should get first pick of the fish. my buddy was croocked last year after outthrowing everyone by 30 ft. or more and got last fish. the fish shattered into pieces and he lost the toss.

This bar has the best of all worlds: steamed oysters, live music, Mickey Newberry on the juke box, and those take home pitchers, not to mention a package store.

We came into the Flora-Bama on Fat Tuesday and then this past Sunday night. It was a lot of fun. We took some pictures with Mike and Tom(two of the best all-time bartenders). My mom, who is still in Orange Beach, should be bringing in the pictures. I think there is also a picture of the owner with us, along with some other people. I don't rember taking the picture or meeting the owner because I was too drunk. Anyway, your place is great. We had a good time and hope to visit again soon. They really know how to celebrate birthdays and special occasions that you will remember forever. The condo next door is convenient and very accomodating, just like the staff! One cannot explain the reality of the flavor of the Flora-Bama, you just have to experience to believe it. Can't wait for the next visit south, I wouldn't miss it for anything!!

I came to Orange Beach for my first time and didn't know where to go out and have a good time, Little did I know that there was a club right down the street about 1 mile called FLORA BAMA, The past four days have been so fun I guarantee I'll be back soon, Thanks for the Beautiful Women, Great Beer and Wonderful Entertainment { See You Guys This Summer } And you know that if I am saying all of this and I am from New Orleans then you guys must be doing something right....
